Edition #140: Daniel Radcliffe, December Boys
ART TALK - Beyond the Subtitles
Monday, 01 October 2007
listen | listen with RealPlayer
First broadcast October 1, 2007

There comes a time for every young actor to grow up. This is Daniel Radcliffe's time. Just 18, Radcliffe isn't exactly saying so long to J.K. Rowling's boy wizard Harry Potter but as the sweetly sad Aussie import December Boys shows, he is definitely branching out. Following his attention-grabbing nude London West End stage debut in a hit revival of Equus last spring and Harry Potter's first kiss in last summer's fifth Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film, Radcliffe's orphaned Maps loses his virginity in December Boys. It's just part of growing up, the voluble actor explains.
