The Black Rock Coalition (BRC)
was founded in 1985 by
guitarist Vernon Reid, journalist Greg Tate and producer
Konda Mason. Comprising a collective of artists,
writers, producers and an active fan base, the BRC works
to maximize exposure and provide support for Black
artists whose work
defies convention
and resists easy
categorization.
Earl Douglas is the Executive Director
of BRC's New York Chapter.
Twin brothers Danny and Daniel Chavis, originally of the
band The Veldt, formed
Apollo Heights
in New York City's
Lower East Side in 2002. The band's line-up has since
evolved to include rhythm guitarists
Honeychild Coleman
and Monk Washington, bassist and programmer Hayato
Nakao, keyboard player Micah Gaugh and Marvin Levy on
drums. The band's debut album White Music for Black
People was released on the Manimal label in October
2007.

CX KiDTRONiK played a few DJ sets at Warm Up on August 2, 2008, the day hosted by the Black Rock Coalition, and was joined by colleague INF-ONE here and there. His next album on StonesThrow will be under the band name KRAK ATTACK - which is his first album's title - and the album will be called KRAK ATTACK 2 - BACK KRAK WITH A VENGEANCE starring CX KiDTRONiK and Tchaka Diallo.
Underground Resistance DJ and Producer Dex aka Nomadico began
his musical journey in East Los Angeles. He learned the art of
DJing in backyard house parties, small clubs, warehouses and
various events in the deserts and mountains around Southern
California. Detroit Techno became his calling after years of
studying electronic music, fusion, latin funk and technology.
In 2002, Dex journeyed to Detroit and studied techno theory
with the Underground Resistance. As part of the UR crew he has
applied his engineering skills to releases such
as "Transition", "Return of The Dragons", "Ma Ya Ya",
"Quetzal", "Babylon's Gifts" and contributed original
productions on Interstellar Fugitives 2, Electronic Warfare 2.0
and his very own Nomadico EP.

Originally trained as a fine artist in her native Tokyo,
composer / improvisor
Ikue Mori
moved to New York City in 1997 and began her
musical career playing drums for the No Wave band DNA.
Mori has since continued to work collaboratively with
leading experimental musicians, her style evolving
alongside technological advances in electronic sound.
