Artist Jen DeNike takes a break from her curatorial and party-managing activities at the Cavalier Hotel (where she and co-founder Anat Ebgi held Frisbee, a nomadic curatorial project) and sits down beachside in Miami to host a revolving table of artists including Melissa Brown, Michael Williams and Andy Hershey of the Slow Jams Band; Flora Weigman of Champion Fine Art; Felicia Ballos of Champion Dance; artist Abbey Williams; Joshua Neuman of Heeb Magazine; and Mahomi Kunikata from Kaikai Kiki studio.

The second in an installment of artist dialogues as host Jen DeNike gathers a distinguished panel with color photographer Stephen Shore, Jeff Rosenheim (Curator of Photographs from the Metropolitan Museum of Art) and Alanna Heiss (Director of P.S.1). An extensive survey of Stephen Shore's American Surfaces photographic series will open at P.S.1 October 30, 2005, curated by Bob Nickas. Stephen speaks about what he was photographing and why as he drove cross country in 1972 and 1973 to make this historic body of photographs.

Armory Show 2006: Artists Buying Art

Jen DeNike coordinated a team of artists who were given $100,000 in fake WPS1 munny and sent out into the Armory Show to "buy" art on their budget and report back. This included revealing their art purchase selections along with stories of gallery interaction and other art world human interest adventures. The group included Dennis Delgado, Matthew Higgs, Marc Swanson, Melissa Brown, Jonah Freeman, Justin Lowe, and Peter Coffin, who first dreamed up this scheme during last year's WPS1 Armory broadcast. Granat makes use of looping films in decay. Tcherepnin makes use of Serge modules, a vintage type of synthesizer built by his uncle Serge Tcherepnin.
